National radio host Buck Sexton weighed-in on the despicable terror attack that took place in New York City on Tuesday, saying it’s time for liberals and progressives in the United States to understand that Americans no longer want to “import” terrorism into their society.
“One of the problems that the left has never figured out about this whole issue of terrorism, is that we understand when it comes to American citizens who engage in criminal activity or terrorism, that we try to limit that, we punish it, we do what we can to prevent it, but that will be with us; no society will be perfect,” said Buck.
“When it comes to the importation of terrorism from abroad, unlike on the left many of us say to ourselves, ‘As much as it may seem a little unfair to some people… the fact is if limiting immigration from certain pre-determined countries [prevents attacks] a lot of Americans would say protecting the American people first should be the federal government’s first priority,’” he added.
“All of the ridicule that Trump and his national security team has endured from this media, here we see an incident that in so many ways lines up with exactly what they’re trying to prevent,” Sexton said. “No one is saying that it’s perfect or without cost and frustration, to prevent foreigners from certain countries being able to enter the United States.”
“There’s a fundamental misconception that the left and that progressivism has embraced is that we owe the rest of the world something,” he added. “That we should be treated no differently by our own government than the nationals of other countries, particularly countries that are dysfunctional and failed states.”
