National radio host Buck Sexton called-out “virtue signaling” celebrities at the Golden Globe Awards this week, saying their left-wing lectures and self-righteousness are directly related to Donald Trump’s election in 2016.
“My view of the Golden Globes –as somebody who did not watch it- is that this is tied into why you have the current President that you do. Hollywood doesn’t have to be a giant preach-fest of self-righteousness,” said Buck.
“They could just be entertainers, they could be content to do what we pay them to do. But instead, they use every opportunity to leverage the public attention that they have as a result of being part of a very prominent and lucrative industry. They lecture all the rest of us about how we should go about our day to day lives,” he added.
“That there is a ‘Me Too’ movement specific to the red carpet is interesting, because there are so many women –notably Meryl Streep and others- who are at the very top of the Hollywood power structure, who decided they would be quite quiet all along,” Sexton said.
“Less lecturing the country would be a good idea. Less pretending that they’re part of the vanguard of the ‘Me Too’ movement,” he added.
