Speaking on ‘America Now’ Thursday night, Buck Sexton called-out media pundits who are questioning whether the US Olympic team should compete on the Korean peninsula; saying Kim Jong Un’s decision to launch an attack on South Korea has absolutely nothing to do with the presence of American athletes.
“Should the US Olympic team go to the Winter Olympics in South Korea in 2018?” asked Buck. “I don’t understand how there’s any question here at all. Let’s look at this for a moment. Kim Jong Un has artillery pointed at Seoul, South Korea right now that could kill hundreds of thousands of people quickly. He has nuclear weapons for sure.”
“The Olympic team won’t go there because Kim Jong Un might think now’s the time to strike because it’ll get more attention because of the Olympics?” Sexton asked. “When you’re talking about kicking off a major war with the possibility of millions of casualties, the presence of the US Olympic team makes no difference.”
“This isn’t a Jihadist terrorist group, Kim Jong Un is not some terrorist group looking for headlines. If he’s going to attack South Korea the presence of the US Olympics team means nothing. I think we should go,” he added.
“The Trumpian response to this is, ‘We’re sending our team, they’re going to kick butt and get a ton of medals because they always do, and if Kim Jong Un sneezes in their direction we’ll reign down fire and destruction,’” said Buck.
