Buck Sexton weighed-in on the ongoing crisis unfolding on the Korean peninsula on Tuesday, saying Kim Jong Un’s incendiary claim that North Korea would start shooting down US aircraft may result in the “annihilation” of the communist nation.
“Yesterday the news broke that North Korea was claiming that it had the right to shoot down US jets outside of North Korean airspace, which would no doubt result in a reprisal, in a response that I think would be devastating,” said Buck. “I don’t know if we would annihilate the North Korean state, but it would be something close to that if they were to start shooting US planes out of the sky”
“North Korean rhetoric continues to be as belligerent as possible, but that’s also not new,” said Sexton. “My concern is that there’s this habit that members of the media have to think of foreign nations, because we have the UN and the internationalist mindset, that people who want to think they’re smart on these issues [have] the mindset that every country is kind of the same.”
“We don’t all in-fact want the same things […] Kim Jong Un and the Kim regime and his top generals and all those around him are just a parasite on the body of the North Korean people. They’re just parasites. Yes, they’re in charge, but they’re also destructive,” he added.
“The North Korean regime doesn’t want the same thing we do. As much as members of the press may want to believe that Kim Jong Un and Trump are morally equivalent. Kim Jong Un is a disgrace to humanity. He’s a vile, mass-murderer who presides over a massive prison camp,” said Buck.
