Speaking on ‘America Now’ Monday night, Buck Sexton blasted liberal legislators and the left-wing media for attacking President Trump as a “constitution shredder,” adding that the Supreme Court’s recent ruling regarding Trump’s travel ban shows he’s acting well within his authority.
“You will recall […] there was in the earliest days the ‘Trump as constitution shredder’ storyline out there. Trump as an autocrat. Trump as a dictator even,” said Buck. “There were supposedly serious journals of opinion and news organizations and television shows that claimed to be news, that back earlier this year were running all these stories about how Trump was a fascist.”
“You’ll recall that one of the earlier outrage moments against Trump, once he was President, had to do with the travel ban. Or as it was cynically and dishonestly called by so many in the media, the ‘Muslim Ban,’” he added.
“Guess what happened today? The nine-member Supreme Court handed down a one-page order that said that the Trump travel ban can go into effect in its entirely; top to bottom, all of it, each country, each aspect, it’s going to be the law of the land,” Sexton said.
“But wait a minute… I thought Trump was a fascist? No, it turns out that the Commander-in-Chief most likely was acting well within his authority, and in fact the initial argument used by the Ninth circuit court in Hawaii […] that irreparable harm would be done if in fact we did not allow people from all over the world to have the right to come to this country […] was an insane decision,” he added.
