National radio host Buck Sexton weighed-in on President Trump’s demands for a border wall on Tuesday night, saying liberal legislators and media pundits have “deluded themselves” into believing a physical barrier isn’t effective in keeping people out of the United States.
“Isn’t this a really straightforward proposition?” asked Buck. “Walls have been around a long time. Walls are effective. Walls are being built in some pretty substantial places, some big walls between countries because it does work. This is not a hard thing to figure out.”
“This is as straightforward as it gets. But you still have people out there who are just devoted to the idea that a physical barrier isn’t helpful for keeping people from crossing into territory they should not,” he added.
“No one said it’s perfect. None of our counter-terror measures are perfect […] Vehicle barriers are a perfect example. You’ve had such a surge in vehicle terror attacks in the last couple of years, some big nasty attacks that have happened. What’s the response? Put up barriers,” Sexton said.
“They’re not going to be able to put up barriers everywhere… But is it worth putting up some vehicle barriers to make it harder to run a car through Times Square? Yes,” he added. “When I hear this stuff about how the wall isn’t going to work… these people have deluded themselves.”
