Buck Sexton stopped-by Fox News on Thursday to weigh-in on Senator Al Franken’s stunning resignation, saying the Democratic Party is positioning itself to become the “party of women” in 2018 and 2020 while labeling the GOP the “party of predators.”
“The Al Franken resignation, I think this is where Democrats will claim to have hit the reset button,” said Buck. “They’ve got to do something about the past with Bill Clinton, Teddy Kennedy; we can sit here for a long time talking about all the predators.”
“Now they try to establish themselves as going through a real house cleaning here. They’re saying, ‘We’re willing to do what’s necessary, look at those Republicans.’ The narrative going into the mid-terms now –especially if Roy Moore wins- is going to be the Republicans protect predators, the Republicans won’t protect women,” he added.
“That has ramifications all the way to the next likely presidential candidate. Kamala Harris, possibly Elizabeth Warren, the Republicans are once again the War on Women party,” Sexton said.
“This is why Al Franken had to go. I don’t believe he wanted to go,” said Buck. “In the end, he would have been okay if it weren’t from pressure within his own party. Not because they’ve discovered morality and ethics and fair treatment of women, but because they see the long-term play here. Democrats are the party of women, Republicans are the party of predators and oppressors.”
