Buck Sexton, the host of “The Buck Sexton Show,” said Tuesday that the felony charges leveled against the armed St. Louis homeowners who refused to kneel to the protesters who broke onto their property in June was a clear message from Democrat prosecutors to all Americans.
He said they want “everyone across the country to know that you must submit to threats of murder and arson in your own home from a Black Lives Matter mob outside your door. And if you show any signs of resistance, those prosecutors will weaponize the law to ruin and even imprison you. This is the country you live in now.”
Of course, the charges against the McCloskeys is not the first action against those who stood up against the angry mob. Earlier this month, a California couple was charged with a hate crime after police said they tried to paint over a Black Lives Matter mural in Martinez, Calif. Diana Becton, the district attorney in that case, said the couple could face a year in jail because “we must address the root and byproduct of systemic racism in our country.”
Kim Gardner, the top prosecutor in St. Louis, has been widely criticized by conservatives who say she is charging the victims in the crime committed on June 28 in the gated community. It was the protesters who broke onto the property.
But Gardner, even knowing that the criticism was going to be fierce, made the political calculation to charge the couple.
Gov. Mike Parson took to Twitter to criticize her office. He made it clear that she seems to be far from a tough-on-crime prosecutor and noted that her office maintains a backlog of unsolved cases—including homicides—although she accelerated the McCloskey case.
Sexton imagined a world where it was not Democrat pawns running around, burning stores and smashing windows across the country, but instead, people wearing Make America Great Again hats. Can you imagine CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon reporting on that story?
“There would be nightly roundtables on CNN and MSNBC and ABC about how Naziism has come to America,” he said. “We all need to run for our lives.”
Sexton highlighted one of the fundamental issues that nobody seems to be talking about: unfairness. Anti-lockdown protesters were absolutely vilified in the media and by politicians and yet violent anarchists are literally praised by Democrats. Black Lives Matter murals are being painted in the middle of streets on the taxpayers’ dime and anyone who objects is called a racist and told to go sit in the corner.
Sexton said Gardner wants to “ruin” the lives of the St. Louis homeowners. He pointed out that if they are convicted of a felony, the couple— both lawyers—can no longer practice law and be sentenced to prison for up to four years.
“At the end of the day, they want a license for people ideologically aligned with the Democrat Party to get away with violating your rights and hurting this country,” Sexton said.
