Joe Biden Focuses on His Own Green New Deal While World is on Fire

Joe Biden, the likely Democrat nominee for 2020, outlined his own climate-change plan that calls for trillions in funding in order to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 all while the country tries to overcome a deadly pandemic, a high unemployment rate and race riots.

It makes you wonder if there’s a window in his basement.

Buck Sexton, the host of “The Buck Sexton Show,” said Wednesday that Democrats seem to know that the first rule of fighting climate change is to put in place arbitrary dates and targets in place that could never “be evaluated honestly.”

Biden, in prepared remarks on Tuesday, took a shot at President Trump and said the only word the president can muster when talking about the subject is “hoax.”

He called for $2 trillion in spending over four years to, in part, update the country’s infrastructure.

“These are the most critical investments we can make for the long-term health and vitality of both the American economy and the physical health and safety of the American people,” Biden said.

Sexton has warned that a Biden presidency would be controlled by the Democrat Party’s extreme left-wing and it seems this blueprint supports the claim.

The Trump campaign issued a statement to NPR about Biden’s stated goals and said jobs would be “destroyed” and the former vice president’s math is incorrect. The campaign said the price tag would be far greater than the $2 trillion mentioned. The Trump team said Biden is already “embracing the far-left climate positions.”

Sexton pointed to the “liberal belief system” that they are tasked with saving the planet because only they can figure out the correct approach and understand what’s at stake. Those who do not fully embrace the world-is-going-to-end orthodoxy are either too stupid or just don’t care.

Sexton said it is interesting that Biden is looking to 2050 when his party’s leaders, like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have warned that the world will end in 12 years if climate change is not addressed. She called climate change her generation’s “World War II.”

“Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we’re like, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?” she asked in 2019.

Sexton criticized the plan and said, “Yes, that’s right. That’s what we need to be hearing about now. This is a religious belief. My friends, the whole world is going to end unless we have green jobs. This is a religious belief, not a reality.”
