Buck Sexton, the host of “The Buck Sexton Show,” said Wednesday that James Comey’s new teaching job at Columbia Law School represents the riches that await anyone from the deep state who tries to bring down a Republican.
The Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General said in 2019 that it would not prosecute the former head of the FBI for leaking memos to the press regarding his interactions with President Trump even though he violated Justice Department policies.
NBC News reported that Michael Horowitz, the inspector general, said that Comey saved four memos in a safe and then asked a Columbia Law professor to leak the memos.
“By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees—and many thousands more former FBI employees—who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information,” Horowitz wrote, according to the report.
Sexton said that despite this history, Comey benefited from a book deal, speaking gigs and a prestigious gig at a top-tier law school. He contrasted that to Republican leaders and how they get harassed at restaurants while dining with their families.
“What is James Comey going to teach?” Sexton asked. “Sanctimonious Nonsense from a Deep-State Superstar?”
Sexton said the message in all of this is clear: If you do the Democrats dirty work, anybody working in the government right now, anyone who’s supposed to be a nonpartisan civil servant, if you’re willing to leak that stuff, that takes down a Republican” your future is set.
Sexton said Democrats take care of their “assassins.”
“They always land on their feet , good jobs, board seats, speaking gigs, books or just consulting gigs…whatever it may be,” Sexton said.
On the other hand, businesses that hire a conservative that is deemed not “woke” enough by today’s standards have to face boycott calls and unfavorable news reports in places like the New York Times.
Sexton said this is why the left continues to get away with its bullying.
