For Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), the new coronavirus relief plan presented by President-elect Joe Biden doesn’t go far enough. She is not satisfied with how the plan frames the $2,000 in the stimulus.
“$2,000 means $2,000. $2,000 does not mean $1,400,″ she told the Washington Post. She also responded later to a tweet from the Post that “Unemployment benefits should be retroactive too.” What Ocasio Cortez means is that the proposed $2,000 should be in addition to the $600 Americans received in December under President Trump’s administration.
Given that Democrats will control both the Congress and the White House, Biden’s plan will most likely be approved.
