“I will not oppose the counting of certified electoral votes on January 6, said the Arkansas Republican senator in a statement on Sunday.
As of today, Cotton along with Sens. Romney, Murkowski, and Toomey have announced their intention to not challenge the electoral college results, thus certifying Joe Biden as the next President of the United States.
Twelve Republican senators announced on Saturday that they will oppose the final certification during the joint session of Congress. They called for an “emergency audit of election results in the disputed states.”
Cotton, a knows supporter of President Trump, said in his statement that he supports “a commission to study the last election and propose reforms to protect the integrity of our elections. And after Republicans win in Georgia, the Senate should also hold more hearings on these matters. All Americans deserve to have confidence in the elections that undergird our free government.”
