National radio host Buck Sexton scorched the mainstream media Monday night over their breathless coverage of the school shooting that rocked southern Florida this month; adding the press was using “traumatized kids” as “political pawns.”
“Law enforcement’s failures here are being pushed aside by the left because the narrative has to be about gun control, not about law enforcement failing at every level and every opportunity at the Stoneman Douglas shooting,” said Buck.
“It is hard not to notice that in the Las Vegas shooting which killed a few dozen more people and hit 500 people, how quickly the media moved on from that,” he added. “It is strange, perhaps it’s because what’s so important to the media this time around is that they have young people being pushed forward to be the official spokespersons of gun control.”
“They’re victims. They’re those who have been at the shooting. This time around there’s a more effective mechanism for making the argument about gun control. You have traumatized kids push forward by the media really being used as political props,” Sexton said.
“The media’s picked some favorites, some spokespeople for the group. That is a distinct change between what we’ve seen here and what we saw in Las Vegas,” he added.
