National radio host Buck Sexton weighed-in Wednesday on media reports President Trump was considering using the military to build his signature border wall; saying the Commander-in-Chief should “roll the dice” and fund his signature campaign promise.
“I’m trying to get a real answer as to whether or not it’s feasible for Trump to use military funding for the creation of a wall. Would it have to go through an appropriation process through Congress?” asked Buck.
“Maybe he should just roll the dice on this one. On the issue of immigration, the Obama administration first had DACA, the second phase was DAPA; now courts are telling Trump he can’t do that even though Obama did it under the authority as chief executive. Trump can’t undo it,” he added.
“When it came to the exercise of power, Democrats have a lot of lessons to teach Republicans. Obama was planning to give out deferred action for the parents of arrivals. Now that’s just illegals. They were going to give paperwork to those individuals,” Sexton said.
“Obama knew that if they could take those steps, it would be a thing that you could not undo. It would pressure the court’s decision down the line,” he added.
