FLORIDA FAIL: Broward County Sheriff’s Dept. Acted Like ‘SOCIAL JUSTICE Political Organization’

National radio host Buck Sexton slammed the Broward County Sheriff’s Department this week following reports the agency pushed local police to issue citations to juvenile offenders instead of arrests; shedding new light on why Nikolas Cruz was never detained ahead of his south Florida rampage.
“You have far too many juveniles engaged in crime. So, what they decided to do was tell the Sheriff’s Department that they’re going to have a new approach to public safety, and they’re going to reduce the crime rate and the way to do that is by saying you’re not going to arrest kids for violent behavior, we’re just going to issue citations,” said Buck.
“Then they could say, ‘Look at what a great job we’re doing in Broward County because of the drop in violent crime,’” he added. “You can imagine what that did to the actual crimes in that county.”
“It’s also come out that Sheriff Israel was using the Department as an old-school political machine,” Sexton said. “The Sheriff’s Department became a social justice political organization that was more concerned with the stats and the perception of safety than the actual implementation of safety.”
