President Trump stunned his fellow politicians in Washington, DC Thursday when he suddenly announced massive tariffs on foreign-produced steel and aluminum; causing convulsions in the stock market while making good on another campaign promise to the American people.
“We will see. There are plenty of conservatives you’ll be hearing from who argue that tariffs are inherently state action that favors one industry at the expense of everyone not in that industry,” said Buck Sexton.
“In this case you have the national security considerations of a domestic steel industry, some say that’s overblown,” he added. “With aluminum you have some companies that are going to be upset by this […] If you’re Coca-Cola, you will not think this is great.”
“This will now be put to the test. People are concerned about this one,” Sexton said. “Trump is keeping promises folks. To those of you who said they wanted the Trump agenda, wanted him to do what he said he was going to do, that’s certainly happening now.”
