Speaking during his national radio program Wednesday night, host Buck Sexton praised President Trump’s tough negotiations with the EU; saying his harsh rhetoric will lead to a “zero-tariff barrier” between the two trading partners.
“We’ve been told, ‘Oh my gosh, the trade war is coming. It’s going to be so terrible.’ Nope, that’s not the way this is going to go. We already have our first major signal that Trump is on to something here,” said Buck.
“The EU and Trump are going to work towards a zero-tariff barrier, zero subsidy situation with the EU on non-auto industrial goods. They’re going to move towards getting more US soy beans bought, and more natural gas exports from the US,” he added.
“It just goes to show you that when you have a President who’s willing to do what he thinks is right for the country, and not just the consensus for decades… You have to negotiate, and you have to use leverage in that negotiation,” Sexton said.
